A year with Shell

The winner of this competition got to experience an amazing sporting prize that lasted the whole year – tickets for them and three friends to the AFL Grand Final, NRL State of Origin Game in Brisbane, Bathurst 1000, Women's QRL Series Team Finals, and WSX World Supercross Championships. They also picked up a $20,000 Flight Centre voucher and a $1000 Shell fuel/gift card.

That lucky soul was just one of many Shell customers throughout the year to enjoy an amazing experience simply by engaging with a brand promotion.

Seven winners of the Win a Super VIP experience with Shell picked up tickets to the 2023 Toyota AFL Grand Final in the Shell V-Power Superbox at the MCG, enjoying premium catering and hospitality throughout the day, as well as two nights' accommodation at Melbourne Pullman on the Park, flights plus a $500 Shell Coles Express gift card to fuel their next adventure! 2023 also saw Instagram competitions to celebrate Australia's hard-working mums and dads.

The winner of the Mother's Day Competition took home a $5000 travel voucher, while the winner of the Father's Day Competition picked up a Shell V-Power Race Team Mustang Bonnet (signed by the team), Queensland Maroons Rugby League Jersey (signed by the team) and other incredible sporting memorabilia, plus a $1000 JB HiFi Voucher, $500 Repco voucher and $500 Shell Coles Express (CEXP) gift voucher.

Our Fuel the Raceday Feeling activation with the Shell V-Power Racing Team (SVPRT) at Bathurst 1000 attracted more than 3000 visitors. In the race – watched by the third-largest crowd ever and nearly three and a half million TV viewers – SVPRT drivers Anton de Pasquale and Tony D’Alberto grabbed their share of the spotlight with a podium finish.

At Queensland's number-one sporting event – the Gold Coast 500 – later that month, we treated 75 everyday customers to SVPRT pit-garage tours, driver visits and Q&A sessions.

Also, we partnered with the Ducati Lenovo Team with its first MotoGP activation in Australia in October, surprising Ducati fans at Shell CEXP Port Melbourne with an appearance from 2022/23 World MotoGP Champion Francesco 'Pecco' Bagnala and teammate Enea Bastianini, who signed fans' merchandise and even their bikes.

In November, 40 lucky customers experienced a once-in-a-lifetime ride in an SVPRT race car in the Queensland Hot Laps event. At the DJR HQ Customer Night later that month. 160 of our commercial customers enjoyed a drivers' meet-and-greet, signing session, photos and Q&A session.
