Backing up his victory in 2018, Shell V-Power Racing Team driver Scott McLaughlin was also crowned the 2019 Virgin Australia Supercars Champion.

It was an incredible year for the team, beginning with a change of cars pre-season from the Ford Falcon to the Ford Mustang GT and ending with a hard fought win in the Team Championship.

Along the way Scott fulfilled a childhood dream by winning Bathurst, the holy grail of Australian motorsport. But that was just one milestone in a year filled with highlights.

Between them, Scott and his Shell V-Power Racing Team cohort Fabian Coulthard stood on the podium 33 times, which included 20 race victories and an incredible 6 one-two finishes.

Scott set a new Championship record by winning 18 races. As well as Bathurst he became the first driver in history to win the Darwin Triple Crown.

He also won the Armor All Pole Position Award for the third successive year, starting at the head of the grid 16 times.

With one of the all-time great years in V8 Supercars history behind it, the team shifted its focus to 2020. Scott got off to the best possible start by winning the first race of the new season, the Adelaide 500.

Then Covid-19 hit. What happens now? All we can do is wait to find out.
