Update - Queensland flood situation
Jan. 12, 2011
Shell Australia can confirm that its Pinkenba Terminal in Eagle Farm is now closed due the extreme weather being experienced in south east Queensland.
The primary consideration in closing the terminal was the safety of employees and contractors. All terminal employees have been safely accounted for and activities to safely close the terminal were completed earlier today.
The terminal will be closed until further notice but Shell will continue to operate terminals at Gladstone, Mackay, Townsville, Cairns, Newcastle and Paramatta – and the supply situation is being continually monitored.
Commercial customers are encouraged to contact their account managers for further information or to visit www.shell.com.au for additional updates.
Shell continues to monitor the situation, and the safety of employees and contractors will remain the highest priority during this difficult time.
