Fleets can take on all shapes and sizes depending on the needs of the operator. Thankfully, the Australian new car market is one of the most diverse and competitive in the world, so fleet managers are faced with plenty of choices.

Whatever you’re looking for, from a fuel-sipping hybrid to a spacious hauler, there are multiple options available. In this article, we’re taking a look at some of the incoming arrivals in 2024 that would suit a variety of needs for fleet buyers.

Toyota HiLux 48V

The HiLux ute is one of Australia’s most popular vehicles and has been for years, in large part thanks to its appeal to fleet buyers. For 2024, Toyota is looking to enhance its appeal even further, adding a new mild-hybrid powertrain. This will pair the trusty turbo diesel engine with a 48-volt electrical system, which the company claims will save up to 10% on fuel.

Hyundai Tucson Hybrid

The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid remains a popular choice for both private and fleet customers, which also means it can have an extensive waitlist. Thankfully there are several alternatives, including the new Tucson Hybrid.

The popular mid-size SUV will soon get a facelift. The update will include the introduction of a new hybrid powertrain which combines a 1.6-litre petrol engine with an electric motor. This means a saving in fuel while still providing plenty of space and safety.

Kia Carnival

If space is a priority then look no further than the Carnival. Kia’s people mover is the class benchmark, providing space for eight occupants and their luggage. For 2024 it will get a mid-life makeover to keep it contemporary and is expected to offer a new, more fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain, too.

Of course, the Kia Carnival will still retain all the space that has made it such a hit with fleet buyers.

Toyota Camry Hybrid

This is another long-running fleet favourite and for 2024 an all-new model is headed our way. The ninth-generation Camry has already been revealed overseas and boasts an all-hybrid powertrain line-up.

That’s not a surprising move, though, given the overwhelming buyer preference for the more frugal powertrain. Add to this its roomy cabin and reputation for solid dependability and it’s no surprise the Camry is a fleet buyer's dream.

Subaru Solterra

Electric cars continue to gain popularity with fleet buyers as the choices increase and the prices drop. The Solterra is Subaru’s first entry into the EV world, but given the brand’s reputation and history with fleet operators, it’s likely to win over buyers.

It helps that it’s a joint venture with Toyota (and its own new EV, the bZ4X) and is a popular mid-size SUV size and shape. A pre-launch price cut of $8000, to a $69,990 starting sticker, should also help attract the attention of those looking for an electric fleet choice.
