Gangarri project location

This is Woleebee, where the solar farm will be built, which is land owned by Shell’s onshore gas business, QGC.
The name “Gangarri” means sunlight in the Iman language. The word is made from the combination of two words; Gan, meaning light or ray of light, and Garri, meaning sun. Gangarri is how Iman people see this project; being purely energised by the gangarri (sunlight). We feel using a name given by the local Traditional Owners is a great way to build on this sense of pride and local connection.
Chinchilla
One of the Shell’s QGC community office’s is located in the Western Downs town of Chinchilla. QGC is one of Australia's leading natural gas producers to supply the Australian domestic market and for export as liquefied natural gas (LNG) via our LNG plant on Curtis Island in Queensland. On a day-to-day basis the project connects with the community through our information centres. Our Regional Community Consultative Committees allow us to reach out, inform and consult with locals who speak for the towns and rural vicinities in which we work. Wandoan
Wandoan is one of the key Western Downs communities that Shell’s QGC business operates in. It is also the closest main town to the Gangarri Solar Project. We aspire to be welcomed in the communities where we operate. We believe that local communities and Shell benefit from being part of one another’s work and life.
