To underline our commitment to leadership and innovation in the lubricants business, we will be making changes to some of our lubricants ranges. This includes the deletion of some SKUs, and the re-name and re-brand of many other SKUs.
The changes will affect the following product ranges:
- One transmission brand – Shell Spirax.
- One grease brand – from 70 different brands to one, Shell Gadus.
- Factory Plant Maintenance and Industry products - focus around eight brand families, Shell Tellus, Omala, Corena, Morlina, Diala, Turbo and Thermia.
To help make it easier and simpler for you to choose the right lubricant for your needs, the new ranges feature less complex and more logical product naming systems similar to that already successfully rolled out for our leading Shell Rimula and Shell Helix brands. In summary, the higher the number in the name, the higher quality product.
We will also be making some changes to the way the products will be packaged by introducing:
- Coloured 20L pails (the colours will help you to easily identify what the products are),
- New labels (with easy to read product benefits); and
- Plastic pails rather than tinplate for some of our products.
We will be launching our new industrial lubricants and transmission fluids portfolios from 1 November 2010 and the launch of our new grease portfolio will follow from around 1 July 2011.
