National literacy program celebrates milestone during Children’s Week
Let’s Read, a national early literacy program developed by the Centre for Community Child Health and the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute in partnership with The Smith Family, will use National Children’s Week 2007 (22 to 28 October) to celebrate reaching more than 65,000 children in 40 communities across Australia since launching two years ago.

Shell and Petronas Enter Strategic Transaction
Shell Development (Australia) Pty Ltd (SDA) today announced that it has signed a strategic agreement with Malaysia’s national oil corporation PETRONAS that will strengthen Shell’s and PETRONAS’ gas asset positions in Malaysia and Australia, respectively.

Shell and PetroChina in long term supply deal for Gorgon LNG
Shell Eastern LNG (Shell) and PetroChina International Company Limited (PetroChina) have concluded a binding Heads of Agreement (HOA) for the long-term supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) with the primary source being the Gorgon project in Western Australia. The HoA constitutes a milestone in the development of LNG supplies to China.

Deputy PM Celebrates 200 Ethanol Service Station Milestone

Emissions to fall significantly following refinery upgrade
Emissions from Shell Geelong Refinery will reduce significantly following the installation of a new filter on the refinery's Residue Catalytic Cracking Unit (RCCU) or otherwise known as the cracker.

Shell in Australia 2006 Annual Results
The Shell Companies in Australia today announced a combined upstream & downstream profit before interest and tax for calendar year 2006 of AUD$1.73 billion, up from AUD$1.268 billion in 2005. This represents a return on average capital employed of 16%. The result was attributable to a robust performance from the growing upstream business and a continued improvement in the downstream business.

V8 Supercars fill up with Shell V-Power Racing
Shell Australia today announced that its high-density high-octane fuel Shell V-Power Racing will be the official fuel of the 2007 V8 Supercar Championship Series. V8 Supercar teams are set to use the super premium 100 octane fuel formulated with 5% ethanol from the first round of the series in March.

Shell Geelong Refinery, a member of the Waste Wise Geelong Network, has been certified as a Waste Wise Company through Sustainability Victoria. The Waste Wise Geelong Network is a new membership program that brings businesses together to learn how to reduce waste.

Shell Geelong Refinery electrical engineer, Debbie Schroer, has won an international award for her leadership in helping the refinery gain approval to operate its own Electrical Safety Management Scheme (ESMS).
