  • Aviation

    Shell Aviation is a world leader in marketing aviation fuel and operating airport-fuelling facilities, but it also has a huge range of knowledge on everything from formulating better fuels to designing and managing cost-effective installations. The company has invested in the future of aviation - in new locations, in upgrades to existing locations and in technical advances. It is one of the few fuel companies with Research and Development facilities dedicated to the aviation sector.

    Following an investigation of customer requirements, Shell Aviation has made major improvements to the way it works, in order to offer greater efficiency, responsiveness and professionalism. Its operating methods major on local strength backed by global support and it places great emphasis on training, meaning that the skills and professionalism of its people are maintained at a higher level than ever before.

    At the beginning of the supply chain, Shell companies produce over 2.3 million barrels every day and have many supply contracts from other sources. Shell Aviation can transport clean, dry fuels by ship, barge, rail, truck or pipeline and, at the other end of the supply chain, there is an expanding network of airport facilities to promptly deliver those fuels “into-plane”.

    Manufacture is carried out to tight specifications at every stage in relation to health, safety and environment standards. As part of its leading role in the industry, Shell Aviation chairs the committee is the custodian of the industry “checklist” for fuel destined for joint fuelling systems.

  • Business Analysis/Consulting

    Business Analysis/Consulting: Delivering strategic thinking

    Focusing on varying projects within different business areas, you will provide commercial analysis skills to business managers and senior executives. This will involve:

    • Collecting and evaluating data and constructing detailed economic models
    • Monitoring and managing the implementation of agreed business improvement initiatives
    • Providing project analysis and evaluation to support decision-making processes
    • Performing competitor analysis and interpreting industry data to develop marketing plans
  • Finance

    Finance: Managing and controlling financial assets

    As a member of the Finance team, you could be central to providing financial support to our retail, manufacturing or production operations, or in a corporate setting. These roles provide invaluable first-hand business exposure. Your responsibilities may include:

    • Cost analysis

    • Results and variance reporting
    • Internal controls
    • Capital budgeting and tracking

  • Commercial Roles

    Human Resources : Attracting, recruiting, motivating, rewarding & developing people.

    HR Professionals at Shell are customer focused and have strong professional and HR business networks both regionally and internationally.  HR works to enable Shell businesses (for example Retail, Exploration and Production, Manufacturing) meet their objectives and build shareholder value through people.

    You could start in a generalist role and learn about a range of HR issues and how they impact Shell businesses. For example, recruitment, remuneration and benefits, employee relations, learning, employee development, organisational change and development, performance management or diversity and equal opportunities. Business managers and employees at all levels will be your customers and the challenge will be to quickly become a respected HR partner - making a valued contribution to the success of the business.

    Or you could start in a more specialised HR adviser role in one of our in-house `centres of excellence'. You will focus on one of the above fields and serve a wide range of organisational customers. Projects you may work on could range from developing and implementing new reward practices, to assessing the business impact of recent legislation, to bringing fresh ideas to our recruitment and attraction team. Your challenge will be to quickly become a respected expert in your field.

    Marketing fuel to car drivers or businesses in industrialised nations is one thing - and a major challenge in today's fiercely competitive market. However, your commercial role could also have an impact on the lives of individuals or the economies of nations - take, for example, marketing liquified petroleum gas canisters, a clean portable cooking fuel, in countries such as Argentina, Senegal or Morocco.

    Whether in a business analyst role, sales, brand management, or even trading, you'll be working with one of the best known global brands - arguably Shell's greatest asset.
