Shell’s Clyde Refinery is one of Australia’s longest operating refineries, which supplies about 40% of Sydney’s petroleum requirements and about 50% of New South Wales’ needs. We have recently been investing significant resources to upgrade our Clyde Refinery and we are currently looking for experienced, enthusiastic and committed operators to join us.

As a Field Operator you will undertake a manual role in assisting the safe, efficient and effective operation of plant equipment.  You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for continuous operational improvement and get involved with maintenance, sampling and data logging.   You will work as part of a team responsible for operating sectors of the refinery and be called upon to assist maintenance and engineers in tackling complex technical problems.   You will be safety oriented and have demonstrated technical aptitude in a manufacturing or similar environment.

This role requires initiative, superior communication, analytical ability and an unwavering commitment to safety, environmental performance and teamwork.

This position is based on a continuous shift roster, and may require working at heights and in confined spaces.  All applicants progressed to interview stage will be required to undergo a medical assessment.  An attractive salary is determined by an existing Shell Award which is detailed below.

Training (Day Shift) First 3-6 Months

Day shift base pay - Level 1 of Clyde Operator Agreement  = $47,715.87
Shift Loading += $19,973.86 (yes you get paid loading straight away!)
Allowances = $2,772
Flexible Hours Allowance = $8,179.86
TOTAL = $78,641.59

Normal Shift: Level 2 usually attained after about 4-6 months but dependent on competency

Level 2 =  $62,047.07 base 
Shift Loading = $25,972.90 (yes you get paid loading straight away!)
Allowances = $2,772
Flexible Hours Allowance= $10,636.64
TOTAL = $101,428.61
+ Super 12%

Start Date: 5 October 2010
