We recruit across a number of different Operator roles. Here’s a general overview.
Using their hands on experience, Operators add real value to Shell in keeping the business running.
What we do
Operations staff in Shell work in a variety of environments and facilities, ensuring the safe and reliable operations of our plants and facilities. They ensure that the production and environmental targets are realised in a safe and efficient manner.
A typical Operator will control all work in their area of accountability through the Permit to Work system while also troubleshooting abnormalities and performing the necessary activities during start-up, shutdown and emergency response.
Typically our operators have:
- a technical or trade background and qualification
- a high degree of technical and mechanical aptitude
- good at problem solving and trouble shooting
- a passion for personal and operational safety.
Using their hands on experience, they add real value to Shell in keeping the business running, meeting production targets and ensuring safety and reliability.
Operators may work in refineries such as Geelong (Victoria), import/export terminals such as Newport (Victoria), Parramatta or Pinkenba (Queensland), specialty product plants or distribution sites across the country in many locations in major cities or remote areas.
Whatever your role, you’ll do a real job from your first day, applying innovative problem-solving skills, lateral thinking and persistence as you make an important contribution to the energy business.
