We have worked alongside the community to understand priorities and needs and where we should invest our funding.

Our key focus areas for investment include; STEM Education, Enterprise Development and Community Development.

QGC is committed to ensuring the communities where we operate benefit from our presence. We aim to create shared value through co-designing programs with the community and building strong relationships with key stakeholders.

We have worked alongside the community to understand priorities and needs and where we should invest our funding.

Our key focus areas for investment include:

STEM Education

Supporting Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) will contribute to more students studying STEM at secondary and university levels and provide young people with opportunities to learn about careers in STEM. Building a talented population equipped with the skills needed to meeting the growing energy demand is critical in communities where we operate.

Future Makers, a partnership with the Queensland Museum seeks to improve student participation and increase performance

Enterprise Development

QGC knows economic diversification in local communities is vi tal to the health of local economies and communities. Sustainable employment and support for small businesses unlocks potential and creates opportunities for economic growth.

Our programs seek to create capacity, build capability and increase employment opportunities across the communities where we operate.

For example, economic diversification programs with Toowoomba Surat Enterprise Basin (TSBE) that support regional Queensland small businesses and work with agriculture producers to expand into international markets.

Community Development

Shell is important to Australia and we need to ensure we are trusted and credible with our local communities and stakeholders. We value and aim to build resilience, trust and acceptance amongst communities where we operate or have an impact.

For example, support for grass roots community organisations through the QGC Communities Fund and Sponsorship and Donations program.
